All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. We never see or store your credit card number, CVV, or billing address.
Chrome extension subscriptions and free trials bought on mainewinters.com are billed by Stripe. You can cancel yours, update your card or billing details, or see your invoices at any time in Stripe's customer portal: go to mainewinters.com/manage and enter the license key from your purchase email, or click "Manage or cancel your plan" in an extension that offers it, and you are taken straight to the portal for that purchase. Doing either also sends your license key (and which extension it is for, when known) to our server, api.mainewinters.com, only to look up which Stripe customer it belongs to and open that customer's billing portal. A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. If you cancel during a 7-day free trial, the trial ends on its last day and you are not charged. We are combining some of our extensions into others (for example, ClearCart into PriceWatch). When an extension you use is being combined, it will offer to move your saved data, such as tracked items, blocked-site lists, saved tab sessions, bookmarks or settings, into the extension that replaces it. The move happens only when you click to start it. It runs entirely inside your browser, directly from one of our extensions to the other: the data is never sent to Maine Winters LLC servers or to anyone else, and the receiving extension accepts it only from our own extensions. The original extension keeps its copy until you remove it. You can also download your data as a file and import it yourself instead.
Accesses your approximate location (city-level) via a public weather API to show local weather on your new tab page. No location data is stored or transmitted to Maine Winters LLC servers. When you click the MailPing button on a Gmail message you are writing, MailPing adds a tiny invisible image, hosted on our tracking server (mailping.mainewinters.com), to that email. The image's address contains a tracking ID made of the time you turned tracking on and a random code; it contains nothing about you, the recipient or the email. The subject and first recipient of each tracked email are kept only in your browser's local extension storage and are never sent to us.
When the recipient's email app loads the image, our server adds one to that tracking ID's open count and notes the time. That is all it stores: for each tracked email ID, an open count and the time of the last open. It does not record IP addresses, location, device or email app, and it deletes each record automatically 90 days after the last open. Loads of the image straight from a Gmail page, such as your own compose window, are not counted as opens and store nothing. While Gmail is open in Chrome, the extension asks the server for the open counts of your tracked emails, sending only their tracking IDs, and shows you a browser notification on the first open. This describes PriceWatch 1.1.0. Earlier versions do less: they work only on Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy and eBay, keep each product's full page address, and save a price only when you click Track; they make no background checks and have no target price or data export.
Works on product pages at 10 supported stores: Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, eBay, Etsy, Home Depot, Lowe's, Kohl's and Macy's. When you track a product, PriceWatch reads its name and price from the page you are viewing. Your tracked items (product name, store, the product page address without tracking or affiliate parameters, the prices seen and when, and your optional target price) are stored only in your browser's local extension storage.
Prices are checked in two ways. When you visit a tracked product page, PriceWatch reads the price shown on it. And about every 6 hours, PriceWatch's background worker fetches each tracked product page directly from the store, the same way your browser loads that page when you visit it, including your own browser session with that store (its cookies). These requests go straight from your browser to the store: nothing is proxied through or sent to Maine Winters LLC servers, and no shopping or browsing data is collected or sold. PriceWatch uses no affiliate links.
